H E L P !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have been programming for 10 years. I have been working with PC's since
I saw the one of the first IBM PC's in 1981 or 1982 (I can't remember). I am
currently working as a Senior System's Analyst in charge of custom programming
and network installations.
The reason I am telling you all of this is because I wanted to prove that I
know a little about computers.
I bought a CMS-401 board and Cakewalk a week ago. I installed it in my
Kaypro 286i without any problems. Cakewalk worked fine, but all the programs I
downloaded from the Midwest MIDI BBS didn't work. (CZEDIT.ARC, MIDILOOK.ARC,
CZEX.ARC, and JM).
I took the board back to my dealer and traded it in on a Roland MPU-401 (for
$150.00 extra). This board did the same thing! I started checking things and
I found out that some programs worked if I sent a Reset to the MPU401 before
the program started. Some still didn't CZEDIT (which I really want!). I have
been trying to write programs to take advantage of my new MT-32 and I get them
to work OK for a while, but after a while, the computer would lock up. I wrote
this program to find out where it locked up.
I took the routines almost straight from the MPU401 Technical manual. I am
stuck. Cakewalk works fine 100% of the time. I don't know what to do. Any
suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Please send me information on the Midwest MIDI BBS or on my company's BBS at
(317) 846-7693 300/1200 baud. Join the MIDI Conference.
Thanks,
Jay Sissom
